and toronto mayor rob ford has given notice to city hall. he says he will be back at work monday, june 30th, after his two-month stint in rehab. and those are some of our top stories on this wednesday, june 18th. announcer: from abc news, this is world news now. well, good morning to you. we begin this half hour with those deadly storms slamming the great plains, leaving a wide path of destruction. that s right. more giant tornados touched down last night including this one, captured on camera by storm chasers in nebraska. it blew in just a day after side by side twisters barreled through the tiny town of pilger destroying everything in its path. our coverage begins with abc s steve osunsami. it s ripping up the whole town. reporter: so far this year the nation has only seen two other tornadoes this incredibly strong. if you look closely, those are rooftops and other large structures swirling into the sky. and then crashing back to earth. oh, dear god.
