Weathersfield A Monday morning fire destroyed a house in Weathersfield.
Weathersfield Fire Department received a call at 5:58 a.m. Monday about the fire at 2308 S. Bellwood Ave.
Fire Capt. Jeff Tucker said, “A gentleman was up making coffee and smelled the smoke.”
According to the Trumbull County 911 call summary, the garage was engulfed in flames and collapsed by 6:02 a.m., and the fire then spread to the house.
The residents escaped without injury, but the structure was a total loss, Tucker said. A heater in the attached garage may have been the culprit, but the cause still is under investigation.
