we know it is coming. right now we have 158,000 people in the corpus christi area that do not have power. some of the lucky ones that do are right behind me. part of the reason is because the electrical lines here in this particular part of corpus christi are under ground, they re not as susceptible to wind damage. another thing going ton here in town, we are currently under a precaution area boil water order. the city has concerns about damage that hurricane harvey may have inflicted on some of the water treatment or water services here in town, so they put that order forward so that people do boil their water for at least the next several days until further notice at this point. some of the good news, we have not yet seen that storm surge that they ve been talking about, that 6 to 12 foot storm surge haes been discussed all day. we have not seen it. it looks like it s low tied at
of here. the harbor master building that was there gave way during those category-four winds that the hurricane brought on shore. just an amazing sight to see that structural damage because of the hurricane. another issue here the water. there is a precautionary boil water order in corpus christi at this time. city officials saying they do not want people to drink, cook, wash their face, or brush their teeth with the water until further notice. again, that is especially true for people with compromised immune systems and people who are young or the elderly. this is for an unspecified period of time, until further notice. again because they re blaming hurricane harvey as far as affecting the water system here in corpus christi. there are just a number of things going on here related to hurricane harvey. we are waiting for sunrise.
