Ramallah, Jan 26 : Several factions of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) have intended to form a unified list to compete in the elections scheduled for May 22, a top official said here.
Wassel Abu Yousef, a member of the PLO Executive Committee, told the Voice of Palestine radio on Monday that leaders of the factions met last week in Ramallah and discussed the possibility of forming a unified list to compete in the upcoming elections, Xinhua news agency reported.

RAMALLAH, Jan. 25 (Xinhua) A Palestinian official announced on Monday that several factions of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) intend to form a unified list to compete in the upcoming elections that are scheduled on May 22.
Wassel Abu Yousef, a member of the PLO Executive Committee, told Voice of Palestine that leaders of the PLO factions met last week in Ramallah and discussed the possibility of forming a unified list to compete in the upcoming elections.
Abu Yousef is also the Secretary-General of the Palestinian Liberation Front (PLF), one of the minor PLO s factions. The PLO includes Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas Fatah Movement and several other left-wing groups.

RAMALLAH, Jan. 19 (Xinhua) A senior Palestinian official said on Tuesday that he is holding talks in Moscow with Russian officials.
Hussein el-Sheikh, a member of the central committee of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas Fatah Movement, said in a press statement that he met in Moscow with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
Al-Sheikh said that several subjects and issues related to the situation in the region had been discussed without adding more details.
Meanwhile, a Palestinian government source, who spoke to Xinhua on condition of anonymity, said that the talks focused on the preparations for holding the general elections in Palestine.
