it s monday, november 16, 2020, this is the cbs morning news. we begin with 11 million cases. the u.s. reaches a grim milestone in the coronavirus pandemic which is surging in nearly every single state. over the last week, the u.s. recorded over 1 million cases, including a record-breaking 177,000 on friday. hospitalizations are also at an all-time high. meanwhile, more states are announcing new restrictions to curb the outbreak. reporter: new covid infections are skyrocketing across the country. icus and morgues at capacity, mobile units deployed in texas. a new crackdown as americans battle pandemic fatigue. we need to hold this pandemic down until the cavalry arrives. reporter: washington governor jay inslee ordered restaurants, gyms and other businesses to seize indoor operations starting tomorrow night. also beginning on monday, the hard-hit navajo nation will restrict stay-at-home orders. we ll do everything in our power to keep our people safe. reporter

we have a peek of that weekend forecast. 76 on thursday, 73 on yesterday and starting close to 60 in boston now. the sunshine is out and will help warm us up a couple degrees today. you can see temperatures not that low throughout the day. cooler weekend compared to where temperatures have been. a bit cooler out there. that 7-day forecast coming up. police are on the look out now for a man they believe assaulted a young girl in south boston. officials say it happened friday morning at a bus stop. now that community is on alert keeping an eye out for that man. we have the very latest. reporter: neighbors say the 11-year-old girl was waiting at the bus stop at 9:00 this morning when a stranger walked up and groped her. he apologized and ran off. several officers rushed in south boston. they saw several police officers is searching the neighborhood. a lot of police officers were there and i seen different people coming down. i don t know what happened. reporter: police
