State police identified the baby as Richard H. Ringer, IV. The baby died at the scene.
The 2-year-old, identified as Maxwell Smith, was initially taken to Glens Falls Hospital for smoke inhalation, but later transferred to Westchester Medical Center for further treatment, state police said.
