THE Namibian Police are concerned about an increase in suicides, with a total of six bodies discovered over the weekend.
According to the weekend serious crime bulletin provided by the Public Relations Division of the Namibian Police, the youngest victim was a 17-year-old girl.
According to the report on 12 February 2021 at about 06:00 at Osisia village, a body of a female person identified as Maria Nawanga.
The body of the 17-year-old girl was found hanging on a tree with a wire around her neck. Her next of kin are informed and police investigations continue.
In another incident on 12 February at about 09:30 at Warmbad, the body of a male person identified as Jan Lukas Isaaks, 41, was also found hanging with an electrical cord in a room around his neck. His next of kin are informed. Police investigation continues.
