means the current attacks on the law run into a brick wall with actually americans and those past crusades may, as donald trump jr. put it, hit different now. of course there will be rationing of health care. socialized medicine. don t want obamacare. coming to gt to stop obamacare. let s repeal this failure before it literally kills women, kills children, kills senior citizens. that last clip from just about a decade ago. but the tenor may be familiar. but house republicans today switched their topics like hunter biden and threatening to impeach the president and several other officials. and they could do what they want in the house. but it is quite a contrast on both substance and messaging to president biden leaning into health coverage for millions of people. something that goes well beyond beltway fights.

moms and dads. they know that they can provide it and they are just refusing to. there is essentially all the evidence points to making it easier for families, but also for the bottom lines of their budgets. and yet they refuse to do it out of hatred of barack obama or joe biden or simply not wanting to provide support for working class families. but i think the lesson of the affordable care act is an important one, which is over time, it s not true everywhere, but over time more and more states, more and more states with republican governors have come to the table to provide coverage because it is a right thing to do for families and it is the right thing do for their economies. and it s ideology against families. ideology against results. and unfortunately we ve seen throughout the affordable care act that republicans have really wanted to take it away.

which you and others devised, it envisioned incentivizing state partnerships and at first the politics ran against that. and then that evolved over time. and that has been seen as a matter of progress. now i want to compare that to how some state republicans are using the power they have under federalism and i want to be clear. that is their legal authority. if they want to use that authority i could say hypothetically refuse to take federal funds to give children food except it s not a hypothetical. it s literally happen in over a dozen states. the money exists but as the summer food program, you know about it, you know about a ton of policy, i m curious how that echoes with obamacare. it s disturbing if you are a constituent there, you wonder why you couldn t get money for kids to eat. it s really hard near, i think, to find a fair or respectful way to refer to or understand that kind of politicking.

we ll take food out of children s mouths to make some sort of point against bipartisan. it was a bipartisan program, by the way, against the obama excuse me, the biden administration he worked for. how does echo in obamacare those maneuvers, they faded over time. it seems that and i am not going to say you re right about everything, but seems on the evidence you and president obama and president biden were right that over time you could bend that. your thoughts? you have the floor for all of that. there is a federalism component to the affordable care act. it s up to states do medicaid expansions. we saw a decade ago that a majority of states were rejecting medicaid expansions and today i am happy to report that that s just down to ten states. and like summer ebt, in those enstates, you have, unfortunately, republican governors who know that they can provide health insurance to their to their families, to
