mountains coming into elkins, the seat of randolph county, and oddly enough two in the morning i saw snow crews out there working. they have been working around the clock. governor tomlin commended them for the hard work they re doing to make sure roads can be plowed. here in elkins, you can see the roads have been plowed. we ve been all out through this area. the one fundamental thing is, still without power. 14,000 residents alone in randolph county, more than 216,000 throughout the state still without power because of superstorm sandy, bringing in this blizzard. we ve been all over the area. we can tell you, it is like a ghost town in some areas. no gas stations are open. the hospital is operating on generator power only. they re only seeing emergencies today. also all of the gas stations that are closed as well. we ve also been in the upper elevations where we ve seen downed trees and power lines. that is causing a big problem. they re going to have to get with that. it will take a
