Arrest after incident involving stolen caravans in Caernarfon

THREE stolen caravans were obstructed outside Morrisons in Caernarfon. North Wales Polie said a convoy of vehicles, including the three 4x4s towing caravans, were identified travelling along the A487 towards Caernarfon in the early hours of this morning (May 14).  After a short pursuit, the 4x4s were stopped, and the occupants decamped. One man was arrested, whilst the two others made off in a fourth vehicle. The police believe they left the area, having possibly changed number plates. Trystan Bevan, Gwynedd North Inspector, said: Our lines of inquiry are continuing to identify the owners of the stolen caravans. We are aware that this incident was part of a co-ordinated operation which involved the theft of at least six caravans from the North Wales area overnight. Initial investigations suggest that this was the work of an organised crime gang that specifically travelled into north Wales to steal caravans.
