I would be lying if I said that 2020 was a breeze, that it was easy or even that it went as I thought it would go. I completed my final year of high school in the midst of a global pandemic, something that I never thought I would face. 2020 brought a unique set of challenges with it. KiwiRail chief executive Greg Miller said the decision to choose the Hyundai Mipo Dockyard, based in the south-eastern city of Ulsan, came after a year-long selection process. KiwiRail has been working hard at this since first seeking expressions of interest in August last year, Miller said in a statement.
The two new ferries will replace KiwiRail s three ageing Interislander ferries, which are nearing the end of their lives.
