MATTAWA There’s so much going on in Mattawa to celebrate the Christmas season that events are scheduled on two days.
In fact, Christmas events are happening throughout the first half of December throughout the Columbia Basin.
Mattawa’s annual Christmas parade will walk and roll down Government Road at 6:30 p.m. Friday. The Winter Festival will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Dec 14 at Wahluke High School; it’s sponsored by the city of Mattawa and the Mattawa Community Medical Clinic.
Most holiday events were in Hund Memorial Park for a few years, but in 2022 the festivities were moved to WHS.
EPHRATA Candidates for mayor, city councils, school boards, hospital boards, fire districts, port districts and others will learn whether or not they were elected after 8 p.m. tonight. Ballot boxes for the 2023 general election close at 8 p.m., or voters must have mailed their ballots in time to have them postmarked today.
MATTAWA – The South Grant County Chamber of Commerce’s Oct. 25 candidate forum at Wahluke High School featured a discussion between candidates for the Wahluke School Board and Superintendent Andrew Harlow about what is going on at the district.
MATTAWA Unopposed and opposed candidates for Mattawa City Council and Mattawa mayor attended the South Grant County candidate forum Oct. 25 at Wahluke High School, put on by the South Grant County Chamber of Commerce.
Incumbent mayoral candidate Maria Celaya and incumbent council candidate Brian Berghout were not in attendance. Candidates answered the same questions and spoke about various topics and issues in Mattawa.
MATTAWA – The South Grant County Chamber of Commerce hosted a candidate and small municipality forum Wednesday evening at Wahluke High School, featuring current officials and candidates for Mattawa City Council and Mayor, Wahluke School Board, Grant County Fire District 8 and Grant County Airport District 1.
