NCR wage board to discuss salary hike of domestic workers

MANILA-The National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC) said the Wage Board in Metro Manila will be discussing next week the possible wage adjustment on the salary of domestic workers in the region. According to NWPC Executive Director Maria Criselda Sy, the matter will be tackled during the public hearing by the Board. "The issue that has yet to be discussed at the public hearing is for domestic workers on NCR, which is set next week," he said at the Laging Handa briefing on Thursday. At the same time, Sy assured the public that the other Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Boards (RTWPBs) will also come up with their decisions regarding the wage adjustments in their regions soon. "So far, the update I can give you, is that most wage boards are already in the wage deliberation stage. In fact, only a few of them are in the last stages of the public hearing.
