Reality And Media Stars Endorse Wade Hinton’s Campaign Monday, February 22, 2021 Chattanooga natives and other media personalities Mariah Huq, Juanita Ingram, Reco Chapple, DJ AONE and Sammie Bush, Jr. have endorsed Wade Hinton’s campaign for mayor of Chattanooga.
Mariah Huq, Juanita Ingram, and Reco Chapple - all Chattanooga natives - and DJ AONE and R&B artist Sammie have joined the Hinton campaign to help elect the first black mayor of Chattanooga.
These endorsements come on the heels of the launch of Women for Wade and the release of Mr. Hinton’s inclusive economy, affordable housing and COVID-19 recovery plans.

Wade Hinton Releases Inclusive Economy Policy Plan Wednesday, February 17, 2021 Wade Hinton releases his Inclusive Economy Plan to ensure everyone has the opportunity to succeed in Chattanooga.
Mr. Hinton’s plan for the economy, following his previously released plans on COVID-19 and affordable housing, highlights his policy visions including expanding the city’s investment in workforce development and training opportunities, increasing contracting and support for women- and minority-owned businesses, and increasing transparency in the use of tax incentives in order to recruit employers that create living wage jobs for Chattanoogans.

Examining Developer Contributions For Mayor - And Response Monday, February 15, 2021
Accountability for Taxpayer Money is a public interest advocacy group that has studied tax incentives and government transparency for the past nine years.
ATM examined the recent financial disclosures filed by mayoral candidates. We focused on contributions of $1,000 or more made by members of the “development community,” meaning individuals, companies or PACs involved in development or real estate. Here is what we found:
Wade Hinton - $4,550 (f5 contributions) Tim Kelly - $31,500 (24 contributions) Kim White - $131,700 (102 contributions)
Developers, like all citizens, support candidates for a variety of reasons. Contributions from developers warrant scrutiny because they, unlike the rest of us, may plan to request a tax incentive from the city, such as a payment-in-lieu-of tax abatement or tax increment financing.
