Most of 300,000 signatures in petition against gay Lithuanian MP faked by prankster

An IT student claims he faked most of the signatures under a petition asking to remove an openly gay MP from committee chairmanship.
Last February, a group of activists led by Raimondas Grinevičius, who is also behind the controversial Family Defence March, demanded that liberal MP Tomas Vytautas Raskevičius be removed as the chairman of the Human Rights Committee.
The activists then presented a petition, allegedly signed by some 365,000 people, claiming that Raskevičius was unsuitable for the post due to his past LGBTQ+ activism.
Irish embassies and National LGBT Federation co-host Zero Tolerance to Discrimination event
The event discussed the situation for LGBTQ+ rights in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, while the NXF offered an Irish perspective.

On March 1st, to mark Zero Discrimination Day, the National LGBT Federation (NXF) – publishers of GCN – was invited by our Irish Embassies in the three Baltic States – Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania – to co-host a discussion on LGBTQ+ equality.
As befitting these pandemic times, the Zero Tolerance to Discrimination event was held virtually and brought together leading advocates from across the Baltic region who discussed the human rights landscape in their respective countries.
