Mexico voters approve $3.29 million municipal budget for 2021-22 fiscal year

Read Article MEXICO Voters Tuesday approved all articles in a $3.29 million 2021-22 town budget, according to Town Clerk Tami Vradenburgh. Town Manager Raquel Welch said the budget is down more than $100,000 from last year. “The mill rate should remain the same.” One factor in lowering the budget can be found in the highway department. Welch said the town is taking a year off on construction projects, except for some road work on the upper portion of Woodland Avenue. Citizens voted 55-19 to approve an article to spend up to $110,000 to purchase land for a public safety building. The monies would come out of surplus.
