COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS â The University of Texas and the University of Oklahoma announced Monday, July 26, their plans to leave the Big-12 conference.
Even though media rights do not expire for a couple of years, an economic uptick here in Aggieland could come back right with the rivalry.
When Texas A&M joined the Southeastern Conference nearly 10 years ago, the community benefited because when SEC teams travel, so do their fans. We saw a big pick up in the number of people that were coming to the community for these games, Kindra Fry, Tourism Manager with Visit College Station shared with KRHD 25 News.

Most people know that College Station is home to Texas A&M University, but the city is also one of the best places in Texas to dine, sightsee, shop, relax, and learn a bit about world history. Yes all that surprised me, too! Though Aggieland is the city’s baby, College Station is much more than a college town it offers a variety of attractions and unique experiences for people of all ages. It’s also known for its friendliness: You’ll be greeted with an enthusiastic “Howdy!” wherever you go. The residents are always willing to lend a hand or offer their recommendations.

BRAZOS VALLEY, TX â Century square and Visit College Station presented the Brazos Valley Food Bank this morning with a big check for the donation from their dine-around event.
The first annual Century Square Dine-Around was a massive success over the weekend and as a result, Visit College Station and Century Square were able to donate over 12 thousand dollars to the Brazos Valley Food Bank.

COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS â Visit College Station and Century Square, across from A&M s campus, hosted their first annual Dine Around at Century Square Saturday evening. The event was a unique way to honor Bryan College Station s vibrant culinary scene.
Tickets for the event were $15/person. Each ticket allowed guests access to taste cocktails and sample bites from 15 different restaurants located at Century Square.
There were games on the green, as well as live music for entertainment. It s great to see people out and about. It kind of feels like the world is getting back to normal finally. We are gauging how everything is going. Are people comfortable getting back out? How are people feeling? COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS â Business closures and new business beginnings, the pandemic has seen it all.
But what about new businesses who are here simply because of remnants of the pandemic?
During the country s two-week shut down, Aggie owned and operated Two Dudes and a Wick was born. When it first started, he (roommate James) had just ordered a candle making kit, we were just doing it for fun.
