ORLANDO, FL The produce industry gathered in force the first week in March at the Southeast Produce Council's Southern Exposure 2022 conference and trade show to celebrate "The Marvel of Produce" and reconnect in person with colleagues and friends. For many attendees, it was the first time they had seen one another in a couple of years, as the worst of the COVID-19 pandemic finally seems to be in the rearview mirror.

News - Eleven Scholarships Awarded by Flagler's Women of Vision for 2021-2022

Apr 30, 2021 Eleven deserving female students at Flagler College have recently been awarded scholarships for the 2021-2022 academic year by the Women of Vision Advisory Board of Flagler. The value of this year’s awards is $32,000. “Because of the continuing COVID-19 pandemic during the past year, many families are still experiencing economic hardships, and the financial need among students is greater than ever,” said Linda Allen-Hawkins, chair of the Women of Vision Advisory Board. “We were delighted to be able to help these exceptional young women who have maintained competitive GPA’s, while actively participating in campus and volunteer work.” The Flagler scholarship program was introduced in 2015 and was paid for by a fundraiser called the Power of the Purse. The event involved a silent auction of designer handbags, a raffle and a luncheon featuring a speaker in the Ponce de Leon Grand Dining Hall.  It continued as a sold-out success for five years, but had to be c
