well, here is where i have been, jake. i ve been president of the united states dealing with the worst economic crisis since the great depression, an auto industry on the verge of collapse, two wars. i don t think i ve been on vacation. and so i think all of us have to do some reflection on how we prioritize what we do here in washington. it s obvious the president has reflected on this. and so have other members of congress. pro-gun democrats like senator mark warner of virginia have come forward supporting sensible new gun laws. warner said recently i think most of us realize that there are ways to get to rational gun control. today house democrats introduced legislation to ban high-capacity clips, and will introduce a ban on assault rifles coming up in january. but the fact remains, not one republican in the congress has stepped forward to support gun control measures.
