Vintage watches can be a great investment.
Collectors of watches with a good brand name and strong provenance can be greatly rewarded, with some prices increasing tenfold over the past two decades.
Those in the know gravitate to names such as Rolex, Omega, Breitling, Patek Philippe, Cartier or Tag Heuer.
Unlike new watches, it is not exact time â in terms of seconds â that makes one vintage watch more valuable than another. Rather, as with cars, it is how rare the watch is and how many were produced at the time it was made.
