Over a day since BJP s victory in the Madhya Pradesh assembly elections, the party remains silent on the next chief minister. Speculations arise as the central BJP leadership has not held a meeting yet to discuss the selection. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is the frontrunner for a fifth term, potentially breaking a record.
Most exit-poll projections released on Thursday evening put the BJP in the lead, with the Congress seen to be coming up short and not cashing in on the 'anti-incumbency' as they had hoped to. Some exit polls, however, gave an advantage to the Congress party.
In an interview to ET, Vijayvargiya said, "I have asked Kamal Nath in the past too as to where he was when the affidavit was filed in the Supreme Court that Lord Ram is mythical, Ram Charit Manas is just a novel, Hanuman never existed. Kapil Sibal and 20 others gave the affidavit. This Hanuman bhakti is fake; they are Chunavi Hindus (espousing Hindu faith during polls)".
BJP national gen secy is also expected to help party pull through in the bellwether Malwa Nimar region. Cong won 38 of 66 seats here last time; BJP had 57 in 2013
Senior BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargiya accuses the Congress party of collecting money from potential candidates in Madhya Pradesh s assembly elections. He claims that the party returns the money to those who are not given tickets. Vijayvargiya also asserts that no one can end Sanatan Dharma and pledges to counter sentiments against it. He refrains from commenting on allegations made against him by his main rival, Sanjay Shukla, regarding the spread of drug addiction during BJP s rule.
