Top 10 Corpus Christi ISD seniors honored as Academic Achievers

View Comments Corpus Christi ISD held its 13th annual Academic Achievers Ceremony Thursday evening at Selena Auditorium to honor the top 10 seniors from eight high schools. The high schools involved were Harold T. Branch Academy, Mary Carroll High School, Collegiate High School, Richard King High School, Roy Miller High School, Foy H. Moody High School, W.B. Ray High School and Veterans Memorial High School. The event, themed Unmasked,  recognized 80 students joined by two guests and their favorite teacher. Superintendent Roland Hernandez said the theme was chosen to acknowledge how each student triumphed while facing adversity. Students, you have shown just how dedicated you are to your education and to conquering the goals you set, Hernandez said.  I know making it to the top 10, and then staying there was no easy feat. Especially with the added roadblocks of a pandemic and a historic freeze.
