The City of Johannesburg s manager s suspicions follow another fire that broke out in a hijacked building in the inner city on Friday, just weeks after the Albert Street tragedy that claimed 77 lives.
The resignation letters of Postbank s chair and several board members were made public on Thursday amid allegations of an unlawful R140 million contract and a system failure that delayed the payment of Sassa grants to approximately 600,000 beneficiaries.
Hundreds of Sassa recipients have gone back to post office branches across Gauteng to try their luck after a payment system glitch left them penniless. While goverment claims the problem was sorted out, many have been left without their money yet again.
