Trevor Peacock death: Vicar of Dibley actor who played Jim Trott dies, aged 89

Don t show me this message again✕ Actor Trevor Peacock, who played Jim Trott on The Vicar of Dibley, has died at the age of 89. His death was confirmed to the Press Association by his agent. A statement from Peacock’s family read: “Trevor Peacock, actor, writer and songwriter, died aged 89 on the morning of 8 Mar from a dementia-related illness.” As Jim on the The Vicar of Dibley, Peacock was best known for the character’s idiosyncratic stammer, which saw him repeat the word “no” over and over again before finishing a sentence. Dawn French, who portrayed the vicar at the centre of the BBC sitcom, led tributes to Peacock on Twitter, sharing a photograph of the pair along with the caption: “Night Trev. I love you.”
