Related Company:  Vermont Business Magazine Norwich University’s graduating future officers will hear remarks from a fellow alumnus at this spring’s joint services commissioning ceremony. Major General Gary Keefe ’86, US Air Force Reserve and Massachusetts National Guard adjutant general, returns to the Norwich campus to speak to ROTC commissioning officers during a formal ceremony at 3 pm May 1. The in-person, outdoor event, part of Norwich University’s Commencement Weekend, is planned to take place on Sabine Field at Haynes Family Stadium. It will be streamed live for students who are commissioning remotely and for the Norwich community. In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held in Shapiro Field House.

Norwich gets $1 6 million grant to develop experiential cybersecurity education

The project consists of three simultaneous efforts defining experiential education in higher education cyber programs. First, the need for a cyber-educated and a cyber-exercised force exists across the military and civilian sectors, from entry-level through advanced tactical, strategic, and leadership levels. Norwich University will support the National Centers for Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity (NCAE-C) institutions and their missions by developing and facilitating 10 cybersecurity exercises, engaging students for skills competency development and measurement. The goal of these engagements is to strengthen understanding of cybersecurity policy issues, influence the future development of cyber response education, and build greater collaboration between the NCAE s.

Norwich hosts second Peace and War Summit, experts will address US-China relations, March 3-April 26

Vermont Business Magazine Norwich University’s John and Mary Frances Patton Peace & War Center will host the second Peace and War Summit, which will address the escalating US-China rivalry in 11 virtual sessions held over seven weeks from March 3 to April 21. The summit will highlight military/security, economic, cyber and technological challenges and follows Norwich’s tradition of hosting leading scholars and policy experts to examine significant international issues, recommend viable solutions and educate future leaders through student participation.
