High winds fueled a three-alarm structure fire that broke out at a Huntington Harbour residence Tuesday afternoon, sending flames into the attic of the home and causing massive amounts of smoke in the area.
Huntington Beach Fire Department spokesman Eric Blaska said multiple calls came in just after 4 p.m., including calls from witnesses who saw smoke issuing from the house off Venture Drive and called 911.
“With the high winds, we’re protecting the houses around it. Blaska said from the scene Tuesday while crews continued to battle the blaze. “We’re worried about embers flying off from the roof [the fire] is pretty stubborn, and the attic is pretty big.”
The following are the Gwinnett road closures for Dec. 19-25:
· Clayton Street from Crogan Street to Pike Street will require single lane closure (closest to the construction) through December for the Lawrenceville Performing Arts Center. For further information contact the City of Lawrenceville at 678.407.6599.
· Dacula Road at Harbins Road will close November 30 through December for intersection improvements, weather permitting. The detour route will be Dacula Road to Broad Street and Harbins Road to McMillan Road.
· Dacula Road at SR 8 / Winder Highway will require intermittent lane closures and traffic shifts through April 2021 for roadway widening and improvements, weather permitting. Any such closures will be between the hours of 8:00am and 7:00pm.

A Toronto man has been charged with dangerous driving by Kingston Police after K&P Trail users were nearly hit by his SUV Tuesday afternoon.
Police said in a news release that at about 1:25 p.m., a trail user saw a man driving a white SUV east on the K&P Trail toward the gated entrance at Sydenham Road in Kingston’s west end. The witness then saw the man get out of the SUV and try to open the locked gate.
