Why Woke Christianity Is The Greatest Threat To Christians Today

Why Woke Christianity Is The Greatest Threat To Christians Today June 4, 2021 My child’s private Catholic elementary school recently welcomed a queer-promoting transgender advocate as part of its “antiracism” speaker series, declaring “diversity of identity and thought” is “a core characteristic of our Catholic faith.” The school insinuated the “transgender experience” and “defining ourselves for ourselves” can “result in more love,” and that such ideas are consistent with the sanctity of each individual as created in God’s image. The school’s embrace of anti-Christian, Marxist critical race theory was outrageous enough. The latest attempt, however, aims to pass off as Catholic an ideology that undermines Catholic teaching on family and sexuality while blaspheming the Creator and Judge. So I decided to yank my child out of the school and find a more theologically sound learning environment.

Magi a reminder that even as we seek God, God always seeks us

Magi a reminder that even as we seek God, God always seeks us A traditional depiction of the Biblical Magi. (Credit: WikiCommons.) Today, we honor the Wise Men who followed a star. Commentary Today, the Church throughout the world celebrates the Epiphany, a Greek word meaning the “manifestation.” On this feast day, we commemorate the perseverance and the tenacity of the Magi, who journeyed for almost two years in search of the Newborn King. How did these Magi of the East know that Jesus was a Newborn King? How did a star – a reflection of astrology – guide these Wise Men to the true and living God?

Singing through Advent, Part Four: The Gloria and Nunc Dimittis – Catholic World Report

Detail from Simeon with the Infant Jesus (c. 1796) by Benjamin West [WikiArt.org] As our Advent journey draws to a close, we want to consider the last two canticles presented for our prayerful consideration by St. Luke, the Gloria Nunc Dimittis. We now move into the second chapter of St. Luke’s Gospel, where we read of the birth of Jesus and various events connected to the infancy and early life of the Child Savior. These texts have been known to us since childhood, enchanting us then; it is devoutly to be hoped that they enchant us still. If they don’t, it may be a very worthwhile Christmas project to attempt to regain that spiritual childhood promoted by St. Thérèse of Lisieux. Of course, the Little Flower didn’t invent the notion; it came from the lips of the Lord Himself: “Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven” (Mt 18:3).
