Seven new defence public sector undertakings, carved out of the erstwhile Ordnance Factory Board (OFB), were on Friday dedicated to the nation by Prime Minister Narendra Modi as part of a major reform initiative to boost India's defence production.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing the event of the launch of seven state-run defence companies on the occasion of Vijaydashmi, said that he wants to robust India s defence capabilities in an Aatmnirbhar way.
In a boost to Atmanirbhar Bharat, the government on Friday gave orders worth Rs 65,000 crore to seven new government-owned defence companies carved out of Ordnance Factory Board (OFB) .
