San Jose opened the scoring like they did on Monday night when Timo Meier scored just 2:38 into the first period, but unlike Monday night, the VGK never let San Jose get a 2-goal lead. Jonathan Marchessault scored his first goal of the game 6 minutes later to tie the score and send the teams into the locker room tied at 1-1. The Sharks regained the lead 11 minutes into the second period when Tomas Hertl scored and that San Jose’s only lead for the remainder of the game.
