The ‘annadanam’ and ‘prasadam’ kitchen at Sri Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple at Simhachalam will be modernised as part of the plan to improve the infrastructure of the temple and to provide better amenities to devotees.
A decision to this effect was taken by the Chairperson of temple Trust Board and Dharmakarta Sanchaita Gajapati, the Board and the Executive Officer. Modern and mechanised equipment will be installed to ensure proper hygiene and health while serving food (‘annadanam’) and ‘prasadam’ to devotees.

The annual ‘Chandanotsavam’, the biggest festival at Sri Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple at Simhachalam, will be performed without devotees, in view of the COVID-19 pandemic, on May 14.
The festival will be held in‘ekantam’ only and devotees and VVIPs will not be allowed to have darshan of the presiding deity in His ‘nijarupam’. According to the temple tradition, the Dharmakartha (Sanchaita Gajapati) will have the first darshan of the deity (in ‘nijarupam’) and later the Minister would offer silk clothes on behalf of the State government.

Sri Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple at Simhachalam here will be closed to devotees from May 10 to 15.
This decision was taken by Executive Officer M.V. Suryakala with the approval of the Trust Board, following requests from the temple priests and in view of the forthcoming Chandanotsavam. The priests requested the authorities to restrict the entry of devotees, during this period, keeping their health in mind.
The temple will be closed on all the six days but all the rituals and pujas for the deity will happen as usual from Aradhana (morning) to Pavalimpu Seva (night). The Executive Officer said that ‘Chandanotsavam’ would also take place without devotees.
