NEW DELHI: Kakinada YSR Congress Party MP Vanga Geetha requested the Central Government to release financial assistance due to the  government of Andhra Pradesh towards Paddy procurement. Agriculture Minister Kurasala Kannababu addressing a press meet in Kakinada on Sunday.   Agriculture Minister Kurasala Kannababu on Sunday stated that the State government would spend ₹14,000 crore on agriculture marketing system and godown space in the next three years. Mr. Kannababu announced this while speaking to reporters on the completion of two years of the YSRCP government’s rule in the State. “The budget of ₹14,000 crore will be spent on village godowns, cold storages and bulk milk centres by the end of the tenure of Chief Minister Y.S.Jagan Mohan Reddy,” he said. The State government has set a record by disbursing ₹83,000 crore of aid under various farmers’ welfare programmes in the field of agriculture over the past two years. Such a huge disbursement will have an impact on the farm sector in coming years,” said Mr. Kannababu.

Chandrasekhar Reddy, on Monday flagged off construction work on the 100-bedded ESI (Employees State Insurance) hospital at Sambamurthy Nagar in Kakinada city in East Godavari district. The commencement of the construction activity of the ₹100 crore hospital was delayed for nearly six months due to the spread of the COVID-19 and other technical reasons. Ms. Vanga Geetha has stated that the ESI Hospital would cover nearly two lakh beneficiaries associated with various industries in and around Kakinada city and they would no longer need to rush to Rajamahendravaram to avail the ESI Hospital facility.

Govt stands with victims of atrocities, says Collector

Birth anniversary of B.R. Ambedkar celebrated East Godavari district authorities led by District Collector D. Muralidhar Reddy on Wednesday expressed disappointment over the atrocities being reported against Scheduled Castes and Tribes during the 130th birthday celebrations of B.R. Ambedkar here. “The government is with the victims of the atrocities and comes to their rescue for their wellbeing. We will not let the accused run away after committing atrocities against the Scheduled Castes and Tribes,” Mr. Muralidhar said while addressing the gathering of public representatives, officials and locals during the celebrations. “The scheduled castes and tribes are being given top priority while distributing the benefits of the Navaratnalu welfare schemes instituted by the State government,” Mr. Muralidhar added.
