Vietnam would continue to be world’s second largest rice exporter: US department
The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) has forecast that Vietnam would maintain its position as the world’s second biggest rice exporter this year.
According to the department, Vietnam will export 6.4 million tonnes of rice in 2011, an increase of 233,000 tonnes compared the volume recorded in the previous year.
It is likely that India will remain the largest rice exporter in the world, with 15.5 million tonnes rice shipped abroad this year. Thailand will rank third with an estimated export volume of 6.1 million tonnes.

Among key benchmark share market indices, that are tracked by stocks worldwide, the MSCI World Index was up 10 per cent, the S&P 500 up 12.69 per cent and the stock of the year, Tesla, up 64 per cent.
Relief about the start of vaccination rollouts, though, was quickly met with news of a variant strain of the coronavirus that led to lockdowns in countries including the UK, Germany and China. However, new infections have reduced since then in these countries and rattled sentiments have eased.

Phat Dat Real Estate could appear in two major ETF portfolios in March
Two ETFs Vaneck Vectors Vietnam ETF (VNM ETF) and DB x-trackers FTSE Vietnam UCITS ETF (FTSE ETF) will restructure their portfolios by March 22.
Based on the price data at the closing of the trading day on February 3, Phat Dat Real Estate (HSX: PDR) shares may be added to the FTSE ETF s portfolio with a weight of about 1.7 per cent corresponding to about 2.6 million purchased shares, according to Bao Viet Securities Company (BVSC).
Data from the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange revealed that PDR s average capitalisation in the second half of 2020 was over VND14.7 trillion ($639.13 million), ranking 31st in the whole market.
