endorsement. she didn t make the case that sand sanders is definitively the stronger candidate against trump and i m wondering what you think about endorsements. i mean, historically there is a very strong argument to be made that they don t really matter. they ve become validaters, chris, and you know sometimes for someone like bernie sanders who coming into last week s debate and after his health scare certainly needed some good news to be able to show a vibrant kind of candidacy and getting that kind of endorsement, as well as having 20,000 people show up to a rally. i think achieves that. to me, the alexandria ocasio other tez cortez s endorsement wasn t super surprising. she ended up working for bernie sanders in 2016. she s always been on that side of the democratic socialist left. but also, i think the clip was really interesting in that if the nominee becomes someone like elizabeth warren, i don t think she would be all that opposed. but the challenge for any

it wasn t so much that he didn t it wasn t just that he didn t have his coalition, it was what his team looked like. he had a majority all white team at the management level. this time around, candidates are making a special point to highlight the diversity of their team. ckamala harris is a civil right icon. julie chavez jr. is the granddaughter of chavez. i think elizabeth warren, bernie sanders, this time around are trying to have a more diverse campaign. that makes a difference when you have validaters who look like you going out into the field. that s an excellent point. to his credit, it was a two-person race last time why he got 60%. now we have 12 people in there. our thanks to tiffany cross and doug thornell, thank you, guys. michael cohen is in for a marathon week. going before congress three days in a row and on wednesday his comments will be public.

washington, d.c. and it s such an important kind of leadership point for presidents normally, peter. well, it is. about half of those people are working, even though they re not getting paid. the other half are furloughed at home, waiting for the offices to reopen again. you re right, they re caught in the middle. you know, ultimately they will be repaid the money they missed during this break, so it s not saving the federal government anything. what it means is the taxpayers are not going to get anything for the money they will eventually pay, but in the middle of that are these workers who the president hasn t talked about at all. this is now day 13, we re heading into day 14 tomorrow. they re idle. and they have bills coming due. anybody who is living paycheck to paycheck has to find a way to make the mortgage, has to find a way to put groceries on the table. so they have not earned the president s at least public notice, other than the border patrol people he had behind him. he
