Hospitality industry seeing holiday weekend revival

Should Ontario County pass a local law capping third-party delivery fees charged by Grubhub and other third parties?

MPNnow Ontario County lawmakers want to know what residents think about a local law that would limit what food delivery companies such as Grubhub, UberEats and other third parties charge restaurants. Last month, the county Board of Supervisors heard from tourism leaders and a local restaurant owner pushing for a limit on the fees lodged by giant delivery companies fees they say are unreasonable and hurting local restaurants trying to recover from the pandemic. A local law would cap the fees at 15% for deliveries and 5% for pickups. The temporary cap is currently in place while the Board of Supervisors decides whether to move ahead with a local law or drop the matter.
