Telekom Romania to install 26 EV charging stations in three cities Source: Telekom Romania
BUCHAREST (Romania), February 10 (SeeNews) - Telekom Romania will install a total of 26 charging stations for electric vehicles (EVs) in the cities of Galati, Ramnicu Valcea and Gurgiu, the company said on Wednesday.
The projects are in line with new trends on the automobile market and come in response to the increased number of electric vehicles on the country s roads, Telekom Romania said in a press release.
The largest such project is in the eastern city of Galati, where Telekom recently signed a 2.18 million lei ($542,221/ 447,234 euro) contract following a public tender for the installation of 15 fast charging stations for electric cars, each with 50 kW DC and 22 kW AC. The planned duration of the project implementation in Galati is seven months.

The European Handball Federation joins Romanian handball in the mourning of the death of Bogdan Macovei. The former head coach of the Romanian women’s national team and EHF lecturer passed away last Monday after an illness. He was 67.
Macovei coached Romania from 1990-92 and again in 1999-2000, leading the team to fourth place at the World Championship in 1999 and to the quarter-final of the Olympic Games in Sydney the following year. He also had a coaching stint with the Macedonian national team in the 1990s.
