Chile Reaches Milestone Of Vaccinating 5 Million
Chile on Tuesday surpassed the 5 million people vaccinated against COVID-19 in 41 days, two weeks earlier than the nation s self-imposed deadline.
More than half of those immunised are older adults.
Of the total, 2 million have the second dose of the vaccine.
President Sebastián Piñera said at a ceremony in Santiago that reaching the goal of inoculating 5 million people, has undoubtedly been a very difficult job and has meant the contribution of hundreds of thousands of people .
He also said that on March 24th they will begin to inoculate the population between the ages of 50 and 59.
