Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway, 47, broke suffered a nasty skiing injury in the lead up to Christmas, a local news outlet has claimed. According to Norwegian magazine “Se og Hør”, the royal broke her coccyx (tailbone) while skiing a few days before Christmas Eve.

Crown Princess Mette Marit has broken her coccyx (tailbone). This happened during a ski accident just before the celebration of Christmas. The news has not been confirmed by the Royal Court but was published by the Norwegian magazine “Se og Hør” on Tuesday this week.
According to the magazine the Crown Princess injured herself on a ski slope a few days before Christmas Eve. According to the weekly magazine, this resulted in a fracture of the tailbone and a night in hospital. According to the magazine, Crown Princess Mette-Marit was accompanied by her daughter Princess Ingrid Alexandra when the accident took place. The skis of the Crown Princess hooked into each other, and it’s thought that Mette-Marit then lost her balance and fell to the ground. Then followed a trip to the hospital, where the Crown Princess is said to have spent the night.

Princess Ingrid Alexandra, 16, when the incident took place. It is believed Mette-Marit was jumping out of the lift when the
Norwegian royal s skis became tangled, leading to the fall that broke her bone. According to
Se & Hør, the crown princess was then transported to a nearby hospital and spent the night there. She is now believed to be back at home on the Skaugum Estate in Oslo with her husband,
