Meet The President: OSU Introduces New History-Making Leader, Dr. Kayse Shrum

A native Tulsan is making history as the first female president of Oklahoma State University. Dr. Kayse Shrum was the president at OSU Health Sciences in Tulsa and said the new role will help her make more of an impact in Green Country. “When you kind of let that sink in a little bit, there’s a lot of responsibility there to be that role model,” Shrum said.  Dr. Shrum was interviewed Tuesday by outgoing president Burns Hargis, where they talked about her life, family, and goals as OSU president.  My goal is to really have a relevance and an engagement with industry and community and the state in a way that betters the community and our student experience, Shrum said. 

Tulsa's Center For Individuals With Physical Challenges Partners With Oklahoma Caring Van For COVID-19 Vaccine

By: Mallory Thomas TULSA, Oklahoma - More than 200 people with disabilities are getting the COVID-19 vaccine thanks to a partnership with the Oklahoma Caring Van and the Center for Individuals with Physical Challenges. Staff said most of the people getting the vaccine at the center are members who made appointments ahead of time.  Wendi Fralick is the executive director and said getting the vaccine to people with disabilities is important because many of them have underlying health conditions that put them at high risk for the virus. Lindsey Spoon said she and her mother have been waiting almost three months to become eligible to get the vaccine.
