Keeping in view the safety of road users, the UT Administration has decided to earmark pick-up and drop-off points for auto-rickshaws on the Madhya Marg under a pilot programme.
Bearing the brunt of monsoon rain, several stretches of cycle tracks are crying for attention. Potholes and uneven surface have forced cyclists to risk their lives and ride on the main road rather than the dedicated cycle tracks. At some places, the entire stretch has been damaged.
As monsoon is likely to reach Chandigarh in the first week of July, UT Adviser Dharam Pal today reviewed the preparedness of the Administration and the Municipal Corporation (MC).
