Ktvu Jana Katsuyama has been monitoring this developing news. Shes live in our newsroom with more jana garcia. The News Conference started at 11 00, and the governor is still laying out his plan and talking with the press. The governor was very specific about what the problem is. He said that the revised budget is lower than his original 310 billion budget that he first proposed. This may revision is just 288 billion. He says that tax revenue came in well below the projected levels, requiring cuts and pauses in spending for programs that were originally expected. He says the state now faces a 27. 6 billion deficit, which means budget cuts and delays. The solutions were about to set forth are overwhelmingly supporting existing core programs without short cuts.
