Revisiting The Poetry Of Margaret Pettis On Thursday's Access Utah

Credit Herald Journal Today Margaret Pettis will join us to talk about her new book of poetry titled “In the Temple of the Stars.” Her previous collection “Chokecherry Rain,” won the Utah State Poetry Society book award.  Margaret Pettis taught middle school at South Cache Freshman Center in Hyrum until her 2015 retirement. During those years she was awarded the 2006 Huntsman Award for Excellence in Education, the 2006 PTA Golden Apple Award, the title of English Teacher of the Year by the Utah Council of Teachers of English, and many times earned her school s Teacher of the Year award. She volunteered as an English teacher for state inmates incarcerated in the Cache County Jail and for thirty years edited three statewide wilderness publications.
