ISLAMABAD: Imran Khan on Wednesday assured the family of Usama Satti a young man killed in a controversial police encounter of justice, as his father called on the Prime Minister here.
Usama Nadeem Satti, a resident of Islamabad, was shot dead on January 2, allegedly by five members of the police’s anti-terrorism squad in the wee hours, claiming they were chasing some robbers. Islamabad police subsequently fired the five policemen over misconduct.
The Prime Minister prayed for the peace of the departed soul and strength to the victim family to bear the loss. He also expressed heartfelt grief over the incident and assured provision of justice to the victim family. The incident was also discussed during the federal cabinet’s meeting on Tuesday, wherein the Prime Minister expressed his strong displeasure and annoyance over the alleged killing of the youngster by the police.

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan Wednesday assured to provide justice to the family of slain Usama Satti who was killed by the Islamabad Police earlier this month.
The assurance from the prime minister came during his meeting with the victim’s father Nadeem Younus who called on him on Wednesday.

ISLAMABAD: All the five officials of Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) involved in the killing of the 21-year-old youth on Jan 2 have been dismissed from service.
Moreover, two separate requests have been sent to the Interior Ministry and the Islamabad High Court (IHC) for constitution of a judicial commission to probe the incident.
The dismissal orders were issued from the office of the senior superintendent of police (SSP) Islamabad, which is being looked after by Deputy Inspector General of Police (Operations) Waqaruddin Syed since 2019.
5 cops arrested for killing youth

Islamabad : A 22-year-old student was riddled with bullets by the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) of Islamabad Police in the wee hours of Saturday, in the jurisdiction of Ramna Police Station.
The youth, identified as Usama Nadeem Satti was going back home after dropping his cousin at about 1.45 am at NUST University, H-11, but ATS comprising 5 personnel led by an assistant sub-inspector, intercepted him but he allegedly did not stop the car, consequently the police gunmen chased the car and riddled his car with bullets. “Seven bullets hit him in different parts of his body including head and chest,” the spokesman for PIMS told ‘The News’.
