University of Malakand holds QC training session for teachers

CHAKDARA, Lower Dir: Quality Enhancement Cell, University of Malakand organized a one day training session for faculty members of affiliated colleges regarding Quality Assurance in Higher Education at Conference Hall, Department of Education of the university.
According to a press release, resource persons of the training sessions were Prof Dr Shafiq Ur Rehman, Advisor Quality Assurance Higher Education Department and Imran Ullah Khan Marwat, Director Quality Assurance, HED Peshawar.
Director QEC University of Malakand Dr Nasiara Karim welcomed all the participants for attending the event and highlighted the importance of quality assurance in higher education.
IIU holds workshop on QS ranking & HEC policy for BS & PhD

Islamabad :Workshop on QS Ranking & HEC Revised Policy for BS & PhD was organized by Directorate of Quality Assurance & Development (QAD) at Main Campus Admin Block International Islamic University Islamabad. Resource person of the workshop were Mr. Imran Ullah Khan Marwat, Director Quality Assurance Higher Education Department (HED), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Peshawar and Dr Jahangir Khan, Ex Director QEC University of Malakand KP, says a press release.
Workshop was attended by Faculty members and officers of relevant department. Workshop was also attended online by more than 60 participants from other universities of Pakistan. Dr Rahmat Elahi, Director QAD IIUI welcome all the participants for event. Dr Jahangir Khan highlighted detail overview on QS Ranking which is most common ranking currently used in international ranking by universities across world. PESHAWAR: The issue of securing promotions and appointments on the basis of ‘fake’ experience certificate by the current vice-chancellor of Gomal University and a professor of the University of Malakand is still in limbo as the latter’s vice-chancellor is yet to take up the case with the chancellor.
First reported on the Citizens’ Portal through two separate complaints, the issue went viral on social media, forcing the management of the University of Malakand to order a probe. The university administration formed a four-member committee under the vice-chancellor of University of Peshawar, Dr Mohammad Idrees to look into the matter and fix responsibility.
KPITB to establish NFTP centres, expand NICs

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Technology Board (KPITB) has signed agreements for establishment of National Freelance Training Programme (NFTP) Centers and expansion of National Incubation centers in the province.
The KPITB, Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) and five universities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa signed agreements for establishment of NFTP centres and expansion of National Incubation Centres (NICs) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The NFTP centers will be established at the University of Malakand, Institute of Management Sciences Peshawar and Gomal University Dera Ismail Khan while NICs will be established in Kohat University of Science and Technology and University of Swat.
