PA State Police To Collect Traffic Stop Demographics

(Shutterstock) PENNSYLVANIA In an effort to identify and address any disparities in traffic stop, Pennsylvania State Police are now collecting demographic data regarding stops. State Police Commissioner Colonel Robert Evanchick announced the department launched a wide-ranging contact data collection program that will run throughout 2021. The program is designed to capture demographic and other information related to traffic stops. Subscribe Researches at the University of Cincinnati will be given the data for analyzation in hopes of identifying potential patterns of racial/ethnic disparities in policing. Should any disparities be found, the researched will recommend changes to state police policies or trainings.
