Government-owned Land Bank of the Philippines (Landbank) has completed its merger with United Coconut Planters Bank (UCPB) by converting all branches under Landbank ahead of the central bank’s March 1 deadline.
The merger of state-run Land Bank of the Philippines and Development Bank of the Philippines will strengthen the surviving bank by diversifying risks and portfolio beyond the agriculture sector, according to a private sector representative in the policy-making body of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas.
