Last Friday, health workers of eight unions declared a strike in 12 of Kenya’s 47 counties starting this Wednesday. They would join doctors and nurses in Nandi County already on strike over three months’ salary arrears.
The Kenyan economy faces many challenges, including soaring inflation and a high cost of living. However, the government is yet to tackle them, and the latest lack of cash to pay workers isn’t making things easier.
