My mother and father brought me and my Three Sisters to south florida in the hopes of building a Better Future for us. My immigration story is one that so many here in miami are familiar with. We are a community of immigrants from all over. From cuba, to haiti, to nicaragua, and in my case, venezuela. My parents had a successful and happy life in venezuela. But our life there was getting worse every day. Leaving was not easy. They left everything behind and started from scratch here in south florida. Like many immigrant children, i remember seeing my parents at their most vulnerable, uncertain of whether or not they would be able to provide for me and my sisters. I had to grow up earlier than other kids, helping out at home and doing what i could to help my parents adjust to life in america.
