Make sure you learn everything there is to know about this act. Under it, you could qualify for:
Reduced interest rate on mortgage payments. 6% interest rate on credit card debt.
Protection from eviction if your rent is $2,400 or less.
Delay of all civil court actions, such as bankruptcy, foreclosure or divorce proceedings.
Note that most of the protections SCRA offers are good only during your duration of your active duty assignment. For more on SCRA, see this overview, or contact your unit or installation legal assistance office.
Thereâs a new ID card coming to Redstone Arsenal in 2021 for retirees, reserves and other qualified dependents, but thereâs no need to get in a hurry to get one.
Ross Gagliano, military personnel division chief, and Ed Adams, human resource supervisor and transition manager, who oversees ID cards, said currently-issued USID cards remain valid through their expiration date. Ross said in an effort to limit the impact on ID card issuance facilities during the COVID-19 pandemic, new cards will not be reissued solely for the purpose of obtaining the Next Generation USID card.
âThat means individuals with an indefinite expiration date on their current USID card should wait until summer 2021 to have their Next Generation USID card issued,â Gagliano said.
