doctor, thank you for being with us. what s this glacier? where is it and what s happening to it? yeah, good morning, john, the glacier in the west. it s a ten-day fair, you get on the tip of chile, you get on a chip, it s ten days before you actually get to the glacier itself. but it s the biggest worry in some of the climate science right now. this thing is losing about 50 billion tons of ice to the ocean per year. and we ve been worried about this for several decades. but we re even more worried about it right now because of this new studied we ve just conducted which is looking into the path of this glacier, what it s done in the last 200 years. and what we re trying to see, using underwater robots, with the seabed around the edge of the glacier, is there s been times in the past where the glacier s actually been melting i believe twice as fast as it is
