Published March 3, 2021 4:07pm Students who will participate in the proposed pilot testing of face-to-face classes will only have to go to school for half a day, a Department of Education (DepEd) official said Wednesday. Education Undersecretary Nepomuceno Malaluan made the remark as he briefed the Senate basic education committee on the preparations of the department regarding the planned pilot testing of face-to-face classes. Malaluan said that although class schedules will vary between schools if the pilot testing pushes through, the general rule is that face-to-face classes will be for a maximum of half-day only. Our decision is for the learners to take their meals, their lunch at home rather than in school because it s in the setting of taking their meals that some of the risks are increased, he said.
